Nebraska!
Hi all...my new home state Nebraska is caucusing today. The caucus meetings are happening all day long...here is an update on one of our rural counties.
Custer county, where my husband's family is from, just had almost 90 folks show up to caucus. This is AMAZING. There are only 1,000 Dems registered in the county (compared to 9,000 Repubs).
The county is full of ranchers and farmers...this is just way cool for us.
I dont want to publish results, since i dont want to suppress the vote at all...but the numbers are awesome and cant wait to send in reports of other news.
Jane Fleming Kleeb is the Executive Director of the Young Voter Pac which helps Democratic candidates and State Parties win with the 18-35 year old vote through endorsements, on-the-ground support, training, strategy and money.
Douglas County (Omaha)
Lines are long...and site got too full so they broke up groups into smaller ones...

At Westside High School in Omaha, more people showed than the facility allows. Thus, some brave Democrats are caucusing outside as we speak to allow their voices to be heard.

- My caucus in LD 10 at Laura Dodge Elementary School had to move outdoors due to extremely high turnout (about 1,000 caucusgoers in all).
- Similar reports from all across the county. Long lines, packed rooms. 1,500 at Norris (LD 9). Over 900 at Ralston (LD 12) with 200 switching parties.
- Reports of miles of cars outside of Papillion-Lavista South High School in Sarpy County.
- Spirits are high. A significant number of new registrations. Great day to be a Democrat in Nebraska! Let's keep it going throughout the rest of the state!
More Updates:
- LD 39, at Metro Elkhorn campus reporting over 900 caucusgoers. Yes, Elkhorn. Turnout is high across the board.
- LD 31, in heavily Republican West Omaha, over 700 showed up.
- 1400 at North High SchoolJane Fleming Kleeb is the Executive Director of the Young Voter Pac which helps Democratic candidates and State Parties win with the 18-35 year old vote through endorsements, on-the-ground support, training, strategy and money.
