- About Me
New York native and Oberlin College graduate Bear Kittay is a composer, performer, entrepreneur and social activist. Since childhood he has been passionate about the convergence of music and politics, organizing music festivals while still in high school and writing politically-charged music in his travels all over the world. Bear plunged headfirst into the national leadership of HeadCount in 2006, meeting Music for Democracy co-founder Mitch Manzella while waiting for a van outside the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee. Bear loves history, wasabi, and the southern hemisphere in the summer. He also plays the sitar. He is the National Director of Music for Democracy.
